What We Believe

Both Saint Olaf Lutheran Chruch and Pukwana Free Lutheran Church are members of the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations (AFLC). As such, both congregations are confessional in our doctrines, conservative in our theology, and congregational in our polity.

We believe the Bible is the fully inspired, inerrant, infallible, and efficacious Word of God.

As distinctively Lutheran congregations, both congregations unreservedly subscribe to the Apostles’, Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds, as well as the Unaltered Augsburg Confession of 1530 and Luther’s Small Catechism. Additionally, St. Olaf subscribes to Luther’s Large Catechism.

As members of the AFLC, both congregations also subscribe to the Fundamental Principles of the Lutheran Free Church and the Rules of Work.

  • AFLC Home Missions

    We believe planting new churches is one of the most effective ways to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. We partner with Home Missions to plant Free, Living, Lutheran Congregations.

  • AFLC World Missions

    Jesus commissions the church to make disciples of all nations. By partnering with AFLC World Missions, we carry out Jesus commissions by sending church planters, training Bible teachers and pastors, caring for orphans, and supporting other Free, Living, and Lutheran Congregations in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.

  • Free Lutheran Bible College and Seminary

    The Free Lutheran Bible College and Seminary exists to establish students in the eternal and inerrant Word of God for a life of faith in Jesus Christ and faithful service in His Kingdom.

    The Bible College is an accredited two-year college where the primary textbook is the Bible.

    The Seminary prepares servant pastors to lead Free, Living, Lutheran Congregations.

  • Pickerel Lake Lutheran Bible Camp

    Pickerel Lake Lutheran Bible Camp has been serving the region since 1940, providing a place of retreat and Biblical teaching for youth. PLLBC hosts two annual youth camps for Junior High and Senior High.
